About Us

Located in central Arkansas, we are providers of traffic radar repair and traffic radar certification services for most brands of traffic radar operating on the X, K and Ka frequency bands such as Decatur, MPH, Stalker, Kustom Signals and others.  Our traffic radar repair and radar certification equipment remains calibrated in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on a yearly basis ensuring your equipment meets the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) requirements.

Precision Radar began as Arkansas Radar in 1998 owned by Dale Ridge and specialized in police traffic radar repair and certification.  Although company ownership changed to Mike Cathey in 2008, Precision Radar carries the knowledge and experience of Arkansas Radar. Mr. Ridge continues to advise and provide his expertise in radar operation, radar gun repair and certification.

Mr. Ridge has over 40 years in Arkansas law enforcement and is a retired veteran of the Little Rock Arkansas Police Department and Arkansas State Police.  His experience includes street patrol, motorcycle patrol, hit-and-run officer, detective in the criminal investigation division and an instructor for the training division.  He has logged extensive hours in training law enforcement on the principles of radar operation.  Mr. Ridge has also been approved by the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards as a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor and currently operates Central Arkansas Training and Safety (CATS).

Mr. Cathey holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas granted in 1990.  He has 20 years experience in the design, analysis, test and troubleshooting/repair of electronic equipment ranging from visible and infrared laser design, variable frequency motor controls, automobile diagnostic equipment and custom entertainment equipment for the private aircraft industry.

Our staff of radar repair technicians are selectively chosen who possess electronic repair backgrounds in similar industries such as radar detector repair, communication equipment repair, etc.  All radar gun repair technicians are required to attend training at several radar manufacturer’s facilities before being allowed to repair your radar.

Quality radar repair and certification is our business and we’ll stand behind it 100%.
